Hi again Angelo. The back image appears to dictate the size and shape of the card in the game. Can you tell me what the dimensions of the default image are, so I can match those?

Brilliant! Exactly what I want - just to add my own logo to the back of each card.
    Perfetto!

    Email sent :-)
    Grazie mille Angelo.

Yes - in Apple Books. Initially I duplicated the cover, so that it was also the next page. Then I found the workaround of adding an interactive wait event (or any other event) to 'Show' on any of the cover assets - that seems to work.

I'm not sure about the reason for the difference in export behaviour, but I would have thought you would want to resize your images and optimise them for digital display anyway, before putting in your eBook? I also create renditions of 1024 x 768, and my original images are this ratio but larger. I resize them down before embedding - my exported epub files were getting ridiculously large. To the point where the file as a whole was too large to load to the Kobo bookstore. Even if Apple lets us load big files, customers still have to download them. Is there something I'm missing about the way you're embedding images, that this shouldn't be an issue?

I had the same issue. I have embedded audio in my books, so I did a reading of the title/author/illustrator/narrator names, added it as an interactive element on the main element of the cover (the image file), ticked 'Wait for completion', and that solved the issue. I imagine you could also simply add a 'wait' event, followed by a 'go to page' event. It would be ideal if you didn't have to do this and the book stayed on the cover until it is swiped, but this is a good work around. I use it deliberately to skip the inside matter (copyright, ISBN numbers & other boring but essential info) after it flashes up for 1 second, and move to the next page.

K Kathryn M started the conversation Pubreader opening books to a blank page on Android Tablet.

I have downloaded Pubreader on my iPad pro and it works brilliantly for reading xpub files. The file size optimizes nicely for xPub, much better than for epub. This is a good solution for multi-rendition projects on iOS devices.

I have recently acquired a 2nd hand Samsung Galaxy Tab A6 for Android testing purposes, running Android version 5.1.1.
I have loaded Pubreader and installed an xpub file of two of my books via wifi.
When I click 'Read', both files open to a blank screen.

I am also trying to work through the steps to launch Amazon apps on Google Play and Amazon app stores, because many of those interested in my books are on Android devices. But that is a much more complicated process. I was hoping xPub and Pubreader would be one possible simple solution; is there any reason anyone can suggest as to why it's not working?

    Thanks in advance
    Kathy

    Hi John,
I'm also creating interactive, animated, read-aloud epubs - xpubs - ios - android apps in multiple languages. epubs work perfectly on iOS, but the read-aloud sync timing is wrong in the Books app on my MacBook. Pubreader reads the xpub files perfectly on my iPad, and has the advantage of allowing multiple localizations. But when I try Pubreader on my android tablet, the book opens to a blank screen (i'll start a separate thread about that). In the Kobo app on my iPad, the read-aloud and animations work, but not the interactive activities, so I've deleted them for the Kobo store. I'm distributing through Kobo, Apple and my own website for now, hoping to add Google Play and Amazon app stores soon.

Thanks Phil! Indeed... I would never have found it without your help! *sigh* Now to try and get the Android app tested and available. Google analytics tells me that the majority of browsers interested in my books are using android devices...

Hi Angelo, the Google Play Console has changed recently (and perhaps mine isn't displaying properly),
I don't have Development tools > Services and APIs. in my menu.
I do have App Signing as a menu item under Settings, but I'm not sure any of the options there are the Google Play Licence Key for the app that the Pubcoder interface asks for?
