Separate APK and expansion file despite 90 MB

  1. 5 years ago

    Hello
An Android app over 100MB was split by Pub Coder while generating the APK in two files.
To avoid this, I have reduced the files to get below 100 MB in the APK. The limit specified by Goggle, from which the apk apk into an apk and an expansion file is necessary.
Now I have reached 87 MB - but still the apk is distributed with each generation in an apk file with 2 MB and an expansion file of 85 MB.
Is not this a bug in the program - or how can I avoid the split?

Thank you, Axel Grube, onomato verlag - Dusseldorf

This was answered a few days ago privately, but I'm posting answer (which happened to fix the issue) here hoping to help others with the same question:

    Hello Alex,
PubCoder always produces an expansion file. That limit is subject to change (it was 50MB once).
There's no problem in having an expansion file when the sum of APK + expansion file is less than 100MB.
I remember there's a bug on Google Play that will make the ability to upload expansion file only on the first update of the app. Maybe try to do a first release of your, then release an update to upload the expansion file.
